21st Century Family - Parenting Heavenly Children

Today is the day we decorate the Christmas tree. In recent years, it has been a mixed-emotion kind of thing. Gone are the days when our seven little children were thrilled to be lining up to get thier turn to receive one of the ornaments from Mama to put it on the tree with their own creative and special touch. It is something almost disdained as they think it somehow linked to little-kiddom, and being considered little. It is now hard to find a time when they can all make it here at the same time, and they are anxious to leave. They watch their watches almost as soon as they get here. It is sometimes hard not to feel a certain sense of sadness.

Initial post

This is the initial post to this blog, and the purpose for it is only vaguely crystallized in my thinking. In general, I envision a place where people can discuss the issues surrounding the breakdown of the traditional idea of the family, the effects on our world, the possibility and path to changing it back. Corollary and even central to the breakdown of the family has been the migration of sexual roles, the confusion as to what those roles ought to be, and what is justifiable both biblically, socially, and logically. It is my opinion that this issue is the most important issue facing our civilization today. The effects of this confusion and waywardness affects every aspect of our lives, not least of which is personal health, economic and political as well.
